Great! Thanks for getting this up. I know why you want all this in CAD, but I would prefer your hard drawn sketches...ANALYSIS before that. No need to do this now. Next week. You can spend some time thinking about concept instead.
tear it down, re-connect the city grid, allow for the shops and eataries to be apart of the city again....instead of barricaded by windowless and street less facades. I am sure you have thought of this...I am just saying...see you friday!
yeah, i think tearing it down would be an idea (especially since it is an eye sore), but i am thinking about some sort of way of saving the building or part of the building to incorporate some leed notions. the other idea is to incorporate some sort of green space along the street edge, maybe redirect traffic around the building and outdoor spaces - to try and re-enforce the notion of a destination rather then driving by the building.
We currently live in a 1927 Craftsman house. Recently completed a total kitchen remodel, a complete gut to the studs and build out with our own two hands.
Our family consists of three cats: Shrimpy, Cocktail and Diesel.
My fiancee, Missy, also graduated in architecture from Ohio State. She recently passed the LEED AP exam and has several active green building projects through her firm, WD Partners.
An interesting quote from Renzo Piano during an interview with Archinect: "I think it important to note the difference between style and coherence. If you're talking coherence, I love it. If you're talking about style, then I start to wonder."
